Did you know that the California Legislature wants to certify mediators and arbitrators and make substantial changes to the California Arbitration Act?
The California Dispute Resolution Council, “Your Voice for ADR in Sacramento,” is pleased to invite you to a discussion on this and on the current state of other ADR legislation in California.
The program, which will be presented via Zoom, on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 12 Noon to 2pm, will include presentations by:

Paul Dubow will talk about the Legislature's attempt to introduce “certification” legislation.

Jim Madison will fill you in on recent decisions by the California appellate courts, the Ninth Circuit, and the Supreme Court.

Michelle Katz, CDRC President, will present the Donald Weckstein Award to Ron Kelly for his work in creating and monitoring mediation legislation.

About the Presenters:
Paul Dubow is a full-time arbitrator and mediator practicing in Walnut Creek with emphasis on securities, employment, insurance, franchise, and commercial law matters. He is past president and co-founder of the Mediation Society of San Francisco; a past president of the California Dispute Resolution Council; and a fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators.
Jim Madison is a full-time mediator/arbitrator specializing in construction, employment, technology, real property, sports, financing, and other commercial cases. Jim is Past President of the California Dispute Resolution Council and a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators.
